BRAZILIAN SEA SALT CRYSTALS

If you have ever visited Melange apothecary, you may have noticed the glass apothecary jar full of large crystals and asked "what are these?" For those who are curious, and those who have tried (and now LOVE) these wonderful little crystals the answer is -- Brazilian Sea Salt Crystals.

While our initial attraction to them may be their unique appearance, what really makes them wonderful is what they do. Native to Brazil, these natural, solar evaporated sea crystals are rich in minerals and offer a therapeutic, time released relaxation benefit in the bath. I never take a salsa class or engage in a high-intensity workout without a few to place in the bath to help ease my tired muscles. Rosemary, Orange Blossom, Lavender and Green Tea are my favorite fragrances in the salts. They also work well when scented with essential oils in the shower -- Eucalyptus & Lavender for example. The crystals work with the steam in the shower to release the essential oils and can help to ease congestion and allergy symptoms. Last, the crystals can be scented and placed in a dish to fragrance your environment.

A HUGE Thank-You to Lisa Breckenridge at Good Day LA ( Fox network) for featuring Melange apothecary on her "Lisa's LA" segment. This is a great segment that is shown several times a week and features some great restaurants, events, stores and fun things to try here in Los Angeles.


The Melange segment featured people blending at our fragrance bar and let us talk about what we love to do most here -- make fragrance blending fun and interesting & keep it reasonably priced as well! Thank you to my wonderful friends for stopping in early to blend (Alma, Nicole, Beth & Debi), It was a fun morning and really helped to spread the word.



People continue to be very interested in our Blending Events. These are held after store closing, by reservation, for small groups of friends. Want to create your own parfum but don't live near Melange apothecary ? Here is your chance!

When you order the Create Your Own Perfume set from our site ($25 at http://www.melangeapothecary.com/ ) we will e-mail you a list of our 80 stock fragrances with detailed descriptions. Let us know which eight fragrances sound the most interesting to you, along with information on the types of fragrances you now use.

We will send you 8 small tester vials of your choice, along with blending suggestions. We will also send one .35 ounce Melange Parfum Concentrate in a convenient roller blended to order & based on your preferences and information.

Last, we store your preferences on a personal profile, just as we do for our in-store clients. You can e-mail or call anytime to have your personal fragrance blend (s) prepared in the products of your choice.

Lelite - Orange & Amber Candles, Bath & Body

It's official. This is our favorite Claus Deco fragrance for Spring 2008. Lelite has been a huge success at Melange since the weather began to warm up; though I feel it has a warmth to it that will continue to endure through Autumn (the rich color does not hurt either).

Warm Amber is enlivened with uplifting Orange flower and Cumquat. The candle is rich and floral and will envelop a good sized room with its fragrance. The soy blend wax with cotton wicks burn beautifully. Try the soaps in your bath or the guest bath -- your guests will thank you. I recently gave a Lelite candle as a hostess gift and received the nicest Thank You card!
